Hello, everyone!

Me, Tricia, filling in again for Alexis. As you can see from the picture below, she got a little wild at our party last night and she's not really up to posting anyway. You should've seen her, wearing her pants on her head, banging her water bottle on the table. Wild child, I tell you.

Anyway, not much else to tell. Hope everyone's doing good. We're going to the zoo tomorrow, so I'm sure Alexis will have fun to tell you about!

Friday's post...finally.

Sorry, this is Friday's post FINALLY being put up. Aunt Tricia was sick and bellyaching about how she couldn't help me boot up the computer and stuff, and I had all these great ideas for my post, so I tried to write them down so I wouldn't forget, but then for SOME reason, nobody wanted to let me use a pen. Sooooo, long story short, I forgot what I was going to say. Sorry, but it's not my fault. Blame Tricia!

Anyway, we got a Blue Star Service flag for the front porch to show that we have family in service to the US Military. Cool, but it only has one star, so Aunt Tricia ordered me a magnet for the car with 2 stars, one for mommy and one for daddy. Here's a picture of it. Catch you Sunday!

Stop and smell the roses!

My life is hectic, but even I have to stop and smell the flowers sometimes! Aunt Lisa's red rose smells VERY pretty.

I'm looking good.

Wearing one of my new outfits! I can't remember if this is one Mommy sent, or if it's one Grandma sent, but I really like it and I looked very cute in it, if I do say so myself. Yesterday I wore another new outfit!

Saturday at the Botanic Gardens

Hi, Tricia again, filling in for Lex on her day off. Today we went to the Botanic Gardens with our friends Bonnie and Frank. We had lots of fun, though Alexis spent a good deal of the time sleeping. Oh, well, whatever floats your boat!

Then we made up a song, because Alexis doesn't like to put her diaper on after the bath, and gets very cranky with me:

"You hate to wear a diaper but
You have to wear a diaper.
You better wear or a diaper,
or else you'll wet the bed.

You'll spew just like a geyser,
I know you think you're wiser.
But if you don't be nicer,
I'll put one on your head."

Loads of stars want to record it, but I think we're going to keep it just between us. We'll consider Whitney, but only after she finishes rehab.

Hot dog!

Today was great! Daycare was closed, so I went to stay with a friend of Aunt Lisa's. Her mom and dad were home, and her brother, and TWO dogs. Awesome!

Then we went out to dinner at Billy T's. Aunt Tricia & Aunt Lisa had hamburgers but I had HOT DOG! I was scarfing it up so fast no-one could believe it. They knew it was really bad when I unscrewed the top of my water bottle and dipped the bun in so it would slide down quicker. You know that skinny guy from Japan who wins the hot-dog eating contest every year on July 4th?

Yeah, watch out, Kobayashi. I'm catching up quick.

Diaper Dandy.

Eat your heart out, Dickie V. Today I'm showing the daycare chumps who's the next Diaper Dandy. I couldn't decide if I should go with this look, or the old school long socks style. Posted by Hello

Teeth, teeth and more teeth.

Well, Monday I had to come home from daycare early because I had a fever, but I'm not sick. I'm just working on more teeth! Both of my top front teeth are in (one's only just in a bit, but it's definitely in) and now I'm working on my eye teeth, which Grandma says can be the worstest ones of all. My right top eye tooth is just poking through my gums, and Aunt Tricia says she can see the one on the left just beneath the gum. I had a bit of a fever in the middle of the night and was a little bit restless, but I was fine today and a little dose of baby Motrin every 6 hours helps a lot when I'm hurting. Aunt Tricia will try to get some pictures, but it's hard because I don't like to show off those top choppers too much yet.

Not much else to tell. Catch you later!

Oops, almost forgot.

Here are my "first haircut" souvenirs! Posted by Hello

My first haircut!

Well, Mommy said that the pictures looked like I had hair in my eyes (I did, sometimes!) and that I could get a haircut, so I did. It's a little shorter in the back than I wanted, but still looks cute and I still have some of my curls, so it's good. And, I can see now without hair in my face!

I'll eat anything.

It was a pretty day, so I went outside and attempted to eat every single leaf in the yard. They kept stopping me. Curses, foiled again!

We had fish for dinner.

Ha ha, just kidding, Alexis was eating her squirting fish in the tub!

Hi, Tricia here. Alexis has decided to take Saturdays off of the blog, and asked me to step in and tell you what she's been up to today. I had to work, so she stayed home with Lisa and apparently was bored with just about everything Lisa could think of to do, except the parts when they went outside. (Friday evening, she sat in her pack-n-play outside under the tree while I did some yardwork, and had a great time! She did, I mean. I did NOT have a great time trimming the walk. Ugh.) Anyway, this evening we ate at Hometown Buffet, and it's a good thing that kids under 2 eat free. If they'd weighed her before and after, we'd need a loan to pay the check. We're trying to figure out if she has to be accompanied by an adult to eat for free, or if we can just drop her off and let her chow down on her own. Then we went to the dollar store, where she drove around in a cart shaped like a race car. Finally, we came home to discover the pilot light out on the water heater. Unfortunately, I'd already taken her diaper off for her bath, and so I carried her out to the garage to see if Lisa was having any luck relighting the pilot light. Alexis isn't used to being outside nekkid, 'cause she peed right down my stomach. Then we came inside and she stood by the tub, holding on, while I ran the water. As soon as I turned on the faucet? Yep, you guessed it, peed again, all over the floor. We laughed and laughed!

Well, that's her big day. She's sleeping now, and I'm going to wash that gray right outta my hair. Take it easy, everyone...I'll be back next Saturday to fill in again. And by the way, Alexis, I SAW that crack from Monday's post when you called me a jerk. I'll get you, little one!

mmmm, soup!

I REALLY, REALLY enjoyed Aunt Tricia's Campbell's Bean with Bacon Soup. Mmmm. I just couldn't get enough. I actually seem to like soup of all kinds. The other night we went out to dinner at a Japanese restaurant and I was drinking miso soup from the bowl and eating hibachi noodles like they were going out of style. I'd lost a couple of pounds when I was sick, I think, but it's all back now and my double chin is showing again.

Check me out! I'm wearing my Trinity cap, my new shades, and my trademark stream of drool!

It came from the tub.

Like a cute version of the Loch Ness Monster.

My school!

This is my daycare. The white door in the center is where we go in every day, and the baby room is the two sets of windows to the right of the door.

Tonight after Aunt Tricia picked me up, we stopped off at Babies 'R' Us to see about getting a backpack so that I can ride around on people's backs (I'm just almost too big for the Baby Bjorn, and getting almost too heavy to ride on people's fronts). Well, first off, that store is crazy amazing, with pretty much every kind of baby thing you could imagine. We'd looked on their website, which featured about 4000 kinds of backpacks ranging from about $35 or $40 to probably $300, so we go there to check out the options. Or should I say, OPTION? Suffice to say, the in-store selection of backpacks was a disappointment. These people had 22 kinds of doorknob safety covers and ONE--yep, count 'em, ONE--type of backpack, for $99.

I don't think so.

Joe is one crazy cat.

I mean, all I want to do is grab hold of big chunks of his fur and fat and pull on them, and he won't ever seem to sit still long enough for me to get to him. Wonder why?

The other day, he left the spot where he'd been sitting, so I crawled over as fast as I could to grab the fur he'd shed on the carpet, and was just thisclose to eating it when Aunt Tricia stopped me. She's a jerk, huh?

Sunday, April 10, 2005

I scream, you scream...

...we all scream for ice cream! I went to Marble Slab Creamery with Aunt Tricia & Aunt Lisa on Saturday afternoon and had a bit of ice cream!

My picture board.

Yay, Aunt Tricia FINALLY finished my picture board and hung it up for me! It's called "People Who Love Alexis," and it has pictures of me and Mommy, Daddy, MacKenzie, Jameson, Chevy, Nana, Papaw, Mamaw, Mamaw Princess, Aunt Tricia, Aunt Lisa, Aunt Mandy, Aunt Jera, Uncle Chad, Uncle Johnny and Joe the Cat. (I don't have pictures of my Grandma, Grandpa, Nana Joyce, Aunt Boo and Uncle John, but I hope to get some in the mail soon so Aunt Tricia can make me another board and I can see ALL of my family.) We sit down in the morning and evening and talk about how much all the people in my family love me and miss me, and we're trying to learn the names for all the familiar faces. Aunt Tricia is working on a smaller poster for my crib with just Mommy, Daddy, and my sissies on it.

Also, I got mail from my Daddy yesterday! He misses me and I miss him lots, but it was very exciting to get a letter!

Strolling with Pooh Bear.

Last night I got a package from my Mamaw & Papaw, and it had my Christmas present in it that I left in Kentucky! It's a great toy that I can push or ride on, and baby Pooh rides in a basket and says cute things like "Will you take me for a walk?" It's lots of fun, and I played with it this morning before daycare!

Chocolate Festival 2005.

Last night they had a Chocolate Festival at Trinity, where Aunt Tricia works. We went and ate a big BBQ dinner in the student dining hall with Becky and her baby, Madeline, and then we went up to the Festival where the students were having a chocolate contest. They had made all sorts of baked goods and were being judged. They also had chocolate pudding wrestling, and we paid $2 to throw a pie in the face of one of Aunt Tricia's friends (the money went to charity...the pie went ALL over her face!). It was a fun time, even if I didn't get to eat any chocolate.

Hooah.

Well, the other day I represented the US Navy, so today I had to bust out my Army Pride and wear it to daycare. Don't I look tough? "Don't mess with me" is right, suckers. There are some other pictures, too....I was sitting next to my bear Daddy sent (we were kind of dressed alike), and when the bear started talking in Daddy's voice, I just turned around and looked at him, all like "Whatta you talkin' bout, Willis?"

Green bean soul patch.

During dinner the other night, it looked like I'd grown a green bean soul patch. Next up...sweet potato mustache and Dutch Apple Dessert goatee.

I love a good nap.

This has become my favorite napping spot, laying nestled in the big pillows on the couch. I could stay here for hours.

Amateur dentist.

It's still too early to determine a career path yet, but I think dentistry is definitely on my short list. I'll grab anyone's teeth, anytime, anywhere.

Soccer day!

Today Aunt Lisa and I went to see Aunt Tricia play soccer! I had a good time out in the sunshine, and sat on a blanket eating snacks most of the time. The game was a tie, because Aunt Tricia is a BAD goalie. She did take lots of pictures of me, though....you can look at 'em here!

Fun at the park.

We had lots of fun at the library by Aunt Tricia's work, and on the swings at the park! I also got to talk to my Mommy and my Great-Nana Joyce on the phone...super fun!
